Maria Vittoria De Fornari Strata

Maria Vittoria De Fornari Strata (1562 – December 15, 1617) was an Italian nun and the foundress of the Order of the Most Holy Annunciation (O.SS.A.), or Blue Nuns of Genoa, or Annunziate Turchine, so called from their turquoise-coloured mantle. Strictly cloistered, this nuns have a special devotion to the Annunciation and Incarnation of Christ mysteries and to the hidden life of the Blessed Virgin Mary whilst in Nazareth.
Blessed Maria Vittoria was beatified by Pope Leo XII in 1828. She is remembered liturgically on the date of her death, December 15.
